What's Easy About Pie?

To tide you over until my return from book-editing exile, I turn to The Word Detective, who has been giving us "Words and Language in a Humorous Vein on the Web Since 1995."

Ever wonder about the origin of the phrase "It's as easy as pie"? What's so dang easy about pie? I can spend an afternoon up to my elbows in pie crust and not feel easy at all about it. The WD gives you the scoop right here. Enjoy.

  1. Pie must not be very easy at all! I miss the grammar lessons, Claire. Hope your book-editing exile progressing well.
